Immunization Specialist, L-4, Geneva CEE/CIS Regional Office, Switzerland

UNICEF seeks an Immunization Specialist to be based in its Geneva, Switzerland regional office for Central and Eastern Europe/Commonwealth of Independent States.

Under the general guidance of the Regional Advisor Health (Systems and Policies), you will be responsible for provision of technical support, guidance and policy advice on immunization and child survival issues to UNICEF Field Offices in Central and Eastern Europe and the Commonwealth of Independent States. Special attention has to be given to introduction of new vaccines, scaling up of child survival interventions and strengthening of the health systems to respond to public health challenges, including in emergency situations such as natural disasters, climate change and loss of public trust in health services.

Your profile:
Advanced university degree in public health (MD,MPH,PHD or equivalent).
Eight years progressively responsible experience at national and international levels in planning, programming, implementation, management and evaluation of public health programmes. Knowledge of international health organizations and work experience in CEE/CIS region desirable.
Current knowledge of development and technology in related field 
Proven ability to conceptualize, develop, plan and manage programmes as well as transfer knowledge and skills.
Prove experience in selecting, recommending, and monitoring consultants as well as the ability to build a resource base of consultants from the region or involved in the region.
Managerial and supervisory skills.
Good analytical, negotiating, communication and advocacy skills.
Good knowledge of computer management and applications.
Ability to work in an international and multicultural environment.
Fluency in English; working knowledge of another UN language desirable.  Knowledge of Russian an asset.
