UNICEF, the world’s leading organization working for the rights of children, seeks a Health Specialist, PMTCT, L-3, Harare, Zimbabwe.


Purpose:

Under the supervision and guidance of the Section Chief, the Health Specialist will be responsible for planning and support the implementation, monitoring, evaluation and documentation of high impact interventions and provide technical support in the area of Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission (PMTCT) of HIV&AIDS and Paediatric AIDS treatment and care.

Minimum Requirements:

• Advanced university degree in health or social science or related technical field
• Five years progressively responsible work experience at national and international levels in programme planning, management, monitoring and evaluation in HIV/AIDS, PMTCT, and other related fields
• Experience in working with communities and community processes advantageous
• Familiarity with the work of UNICEF or experience working with United Nations Organization will be an added advantage
• High level of technical knowledge in the fields of HIV/AIDS PMTCT, Paediatric AIDS treatment and Nutrition
• Proven ability to conceptualize, develop, plan and manage programmes as well as to transfer knowledge and skills
• Good analytical, negotiating, communication and advocacy skills
• Teamwork abilities
• Ability to work in an international or multicultural environment and establish harmonious and effective working relationships, both within and outside UNICEF
• Knowledge of computer management and applications
Fluency in English language required
