Programme Planning Specialist, L-4, Brasilia, Brazil

If you are a passionate and committed professional and want to make a lasting difference for children, the world's leading children's rights organization would like to hear from you. UNICEF seeks a Programme Planning Specialist to be based in its Brasilia, Brazil Office.

Under the general guidance of the Representative, you will be responsible for programme planning function. You will support the Representative in the integration of the areas of Programme, Operations, PSS and Communication including the sub-offices. You will develop and implement a strategy for balanced fundraising across themes for allocation of roles between Programme, PSS and Communication, relationship with all our partners and development of quality donor proposals and reports. You will also support the Deputy Representative in all matters related to planning and monitoring the country programme.

Your profile:
Advanced university degree or equivalent background in social sciences, with training in programme management, include planning, monitoring, evaluation, and resource management. Professional expertise in UNICEF programme planning, development, implementation, coordination, monitoring and evaluation in developing countries or in the field. Methodology. Professional expertise in inter-disciplinary approach in programme planning, and research and evaluation.
Eight years progressively responsible professional work experience at the national and international levels in social development, management, monitoring and evaluation.
Current knowledge of development issues, policies as well as social programming policies and procedures in international development cooperation
Proven ability to conceptualize, innovate, plan and execute ideas as well as transfer knowledge and skills
Ability to supervise professional and support staff
Good analytical, negotiating, communication and advocacy skills
Computer skills, including internet navigation and various office applications
Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-cultural environment, and establish harmonious and effective working relationships both within and outside the organization.
Fluency in English and other UN Latin language required. Knowledge of Portuguese to be acquired through semi-intensive training.
