Monitoring Specialist (Strategic Information), P-3, Panama City Regional Office, Panama
If you are a passionate and committed professional and want to make a lasting difference for children, the world's leading children's rights organization would like to hear from you. UNICEF seeks a Monitoring Specialist (Strategic Information) to be based in its Panama City Regional Office, Panama.
Under the supervision of the Regional Chief, Monitoring and Evaluation, you will be responsible for supporting in-country capacity development for MDG/WFFC/CRC monitoring and programme support with a specific focus on national data collection on children and women’s issues. Specific attention will be given to the use of MICS methodology in primary data collection and to supporting data management and dissemination (including further development of tools and strategies).
Your profile:
Master’s degree in social sciences, epidemiology, statistics, demography, or a related field with significant measurement or analysis component.
Five years of professional work experience in data collection, data management and data project implementation.
Previous experience in household surveys in developing countries, preferably in DHR and/or MICS.
Management experience in implementing household surveys.
Previous experience in fieldwork organization and questionnaire design.
Good communication skills and ability to work well with people of different educational backgrounds and culture, experience in training.
Excellent command of Spanish and English (written and spoken).
Willingness and ability to travel extensively.
General understanding of sampling issues, statistical validity and verification of data sources.
Fluency in English and Spanish.
