Evaluation Manager and Evaluation Consultants, Evaluation Office

UNICEF seeks an Evaluation Manager and Evaluation Consultants to take part in high profile review and evaluation exercises. UNICEF’s Evaluation Office is now recruiting:

1. An Evaluation Manager to be based for all or the majority of the duration of the assignment in the Evaluation Office at UNICEF HQ in New York.  The evaluation manager will manage team leaders/ consultancy teams, and will not conduct evaluation.  This is a temporary appointment for 6 months initially, with the possibility of an extension for up to one year total.  Applicants must have significant evaluation, project management and developing country experience.  Experience with UN agencies, developing country working experience, and languages in addition to English are desirable.  Start date late March 1 2008.

2. Child Survival and Development in Africa, Stock taking review (3 consultants): a) Review Team Leader (3 months), b) Child Survival and Development Consultant (2 months) with expertise in one or more programmes of health, nutrition, water and sanitation and HIV-AIDS in Africa, and c) Data/Document analyst (2 months), all with evaluation experience and knowledge of child survival strategies.  Duration of the review, March-May 2008.  Travel required to UNICEF HQ New York and some travel to Africa likely.  With is a requirement.  English and French language skills preferred.  Experience with UN, bilateral or multilateral agencies is desirable.  Start Date March 2008.

3. Evaluation of UNICEF engagement with global programme partnership evaluation (3 consultants): a) Evaluation team leader, b) Senior consultant and c) Consultant, all with experience of managing and/or evaluating partnerships.  Applications from individual and groups of consultants will be considered.  Applicants must have experience within, or evaluation of, major/complex partnerships for development.  Experience with UN, bilateral or multilateral agencies is desirable.  Start date mid-March 2008 for 4-5 months.
